what else I did.

I wen't to the end of the road.

what I did.

In november I had a solo exhibit at Centro Gultural Torre de Reloj in Mexico City.
The show was called "Landscape, myth and magic". Two floors of paintings.
Alfonso and me during the art installing. I decided to just paint my name on the wall instead of using vinyl letters.
Me during the opening reception, showing the delegada Gabriela Cuevas the little people in my paintings.
View from the second floor.
Posing for the press. From the left is Lars-Goran Larsson, minister from the Swedish Embassy, The delegada Gabriela Cuevas from delegacion Miguel Hidalgo, me, Rebecca de Alba, and my art dealer Maresa Arevalo.

Post Exhibit

I am suffering from post exhibit braindrain dont want to do anything vaguely creative like put words together or pretend to be interested in anything other than the most mundane. My studio feels like a foreign cell and what was I thinking about anyway with those half finished paintings still hanging there-isnt painting dead anyway? Did someone already think of a room with a lighbulb that you can switch on and off, now thats art that says a lot about current time. And I'm not being sarcastic either.
I'm looking forward to going home.

Show in Mexico City/ Moment of Glory

My moment of glory! Facing the paparazzi- the swedish attache from the embassy of Sweden in Mexico, The delegada Gabriela Cuevas (kind of a mayor of that part of the city )me, Rebecca de Alba and my art dealer Maresa Arevalo.

Show in Mexico City/installation views

Installation views of the show. I only managed to get pictures of the second floor- there was a whole first floor of pictures too. But thats where all the people hung out. To bad, because the best work was on the second floor. But then the artist always seems to be wrong , my best pieces never sell.

Art Show

After a whole year worth of work its almost showtime, this is the place where I will have my art show in Mexico City. Its a gallery space run by the city, its a two story building in a park in Colonia Polanco, surrounded by fancy restaurants and the Gucci and the Vuitton shops. I have toiled and suffered, as only us artists can, and to make it extra sufferable I made all the paintings on wood panels and in a format impossible to ship, so that at every turn there would be an extra level of anxiety- will the work pass by the notoriusly scary mexican customs? Will it arrive at all? Now I reached a point where, I really should paint a couple more, but I cant. Im done. Is that Ok? Yet, I am still not done at all. There are so many things that could go wrong,so many things just hanging into thin air.
This is the bottom floor
and the top floor.

Weekend in DF

Last weekend I went, here-Mexico City. I usually stay in this house, in La Condesa, which is a supposedly kind of a happening part of the city. Lots of sushi -a synagoge and a Starbucks around the corner. I like to see the conchero dancers in the historic center, and to discover architectural gems, like the glass ceiling of a hotel patio.

In the Big City

This is the Zocalo of Mexico City. They were getting ready for the Day of the Dead, altars were being put up.
The cathedral was built right on top of the Aztecs temple. Diego Riveras most famous mural lives in one of the buildings lining the Plaza.
